Mission Trips

At LifeWell, we want to be a church that champions missions.  We do not just want to support missionaries, we want our people to be actively involved in going and supporting missions.

Below are the organizations we currently support.

PUENTE INTERNATIONAL

One of the very first missions we wanted to support as a brand new church family is Puente International–a ministry that exists "to connect people to a living gospel by helping break the cycle of poverty in Costa Rica".

Puente strives to be the bridge between worlds. Connecting those who have, to those who need. We are focused on helping one specific area of San Jose. An ever changing neighborhood full of Nicaraguans escaping terrible circumstances. They help spread the practical love of Jesus by assisting in education (providing supplies, uniforms, and tutoring so that the next generation can escape the poverty cycle), immigration (helping those escaping worse conditions in Nicaragua obtain their legal documents), and employment.

Founded by Andrew Butz and working alongside local Costa Rican pastor, Efraim Campos, this ministry is constantly seeking new ways to help people realize a better life through encountering the gospel of Jesus Christ–and that is why we are proud to support them in their efforts however we can!

Ignite Church planting

LifeWell was planted in 2018 by our founding Pastor Danny Cox and Ignite Church planting.  We continue to give to this organization ho help it achieve its mission.   Ignite Church Planting exists to accelerate the spread of Jesus’ mission across Chicagoland by starting churches. Ignite is a church-planting ministry located in one of America's greatest cities with a huge population base; Chicagoland and NW Indiana is home to 10 million people. It is estimated that almost 6.5 million people have no relationship with Jesus or his church. Ignite will change that reality by starting new churches.

Ignite Church Planting started over 100 years ago as Chicago District Evangelization Association.  Ignite has roots to the Independent Christian Churches and has a long track record of planting successful churches through the Chicagoland region.

Grain of Rice Project

Grain of Rice Project is a non-profit organization that empowers Kenyans through education and training initiatives in Jesus' name. They operate 4.5 hours outside of Nairobi on 8.5 acres which houses their artisan program, volunteer housing, vegetable gardens, and the Grain of Rice Academy. Grain of Rice Academy is a primary school that provides high quality, hands-on learning within a Christian context to children in need. Their students represent a range of tribes and ages as they focus on building a unified environment. Their school has a heavy emphasis on literacy, and they follow a cross-curricular approach to learning. Their vision is to create leaders who become problem-solvers in their own communities, thus expanding the ministry’s reach.

Additionally, they support over 20 artisans from both the village and others who started with us in Kibera Slum and have now moved to the new location. Artisans create handcrafted products that help them to earn a living wage and support their families.

Although they cannot change all of Kenya, they strive to do small things to empower people that will add up to make a big difference in their lives and will in turn spill over and make a difference in the lives of others around them. Join us in tipping the scale.
